The Big City Life!
Its all happening here! This is a city of skyscrapers.
About 125 big ones just in the core of the city.
You can buy almost anything here or do almost
anything that you could do in NYC except perhaps see a Broadway Show but
even that is questionable. The prices you will pay in many cases
are less or in most cases very much less than in say NYC (which is
cheaper than many other larger cities such as Paris, London, Tokyo and
Hong Kong)
Panama City has a population of almost 1,000,000.
It is a
bustling city that comes to a virtual halt during "rush hour"
but keeps dancing until 6 in the morning. Other
than the persistent honking of horns on the main arteries, the city
offers wonderful shopping, dining and residential options.
You can purchase a brand new 4000 square foot condo
with granite top kitchen etc in Punta Pacifico on the ocean's edge for
$400,000 without municipal taxes for 20 years. $4mm is the NYC estimate
without the carrying costs of about $100k per annum.
You could choose a smallish 1250 square foot, brand
new three bedroom condo in the pleasant and much quieter "San Francisco"
area for about $75,000. Older single family homes, on one quarter acre,
in the "canal zone" might cost in the $200,000 range and require $25,000
of renovation to bring them up to a reasonable standard.
Here are some Panama City sights and sounds!
