Coronado (go directly to pictures)

Coronado is a relatively exclusive gated resort community of approximately 5000 properties on the Pacific Ocean. It is a 60 minute drive from Panama City on the Inter American 4 lane highway.

Very wealthy Panamanians own beach front weekend mansions with values ranging from $2 to $10 million with most having 6,000 to 20,000 square foot under roof.

There are also many 800 to 4000 square foot, 2-4 bedroom houses for prices ranging from $125,000 to $1MM.

The value of an empty lot in Coronado, per square meter (one square meter equals 10.7 square feet), ranges from $650 on the beach to $80 more than 5 blocks back from the beach. The smallest lot size is about a quarter acre or 10,000 square feet.

The cost of construction ranges from about $350 per M2 to about $1200 per M2.

Coronado is a Planned Community

Coronado was established 70 years ago as a "planned community". The original owners (the Eisenmann family) have sold most of their properties in Coronado. They recently completed the "Alcazar", a luxury condo building with 3000 to 8000 square foot units located in the middle of the golf course with spectacular ocean and mountain views.

The town boasts 2-3 miles of exquisite palm-studded Pacific beachfront. It offers a world class "country club" featuring an 18 hole golf course (designed by Fazio), large brand new equestrian facilities, 4 excellent restaurants, 4 tennis courts with night lighting, a luxury spa, several large swimming pools with one being an "infinity pool" on the beach, and of course excellent hotel facilities with approximately 75 units some of which are two bedroom suites.

As of late 2010 there will be 3 new shopping centers in Coronado with approximately 200 new businesses.

The following pictures give a flavor of this beautiful area which we chose for our personal residence.
